Maite’ Madsen
I am a budding multimedia artist drawn to the intricacies of design, material, and process. Due to growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of Cashmere and the Wenatchee Valley, I often incorporate botanical and organic forms in my work. While I experiment with fiber arts, painting, and oil pastel, ceramics—particularly pottery—has truly captured my heart.
What started as a high-school ceramics class led to three years of study at Wenatchee Valley College and a summer as the potter-in-residence at the Grünewald Guild, an experience I adored. I am now an aspiring art educator in my first year at Western Washington University, where my passion for ceramics continues to grow.
Working with clay grounds me, fuels my creativity, and reminds me why I love making art—because nothing quite compares to getting your hands dirty in the mud.
